Consistency: Why the Best Product Doesn't Win

Published August 5, 2026 · 3:26

Consistency

So, this is me getting more videos out today. The thing I wanted to talk to you about is, I'm gonna keep on harping this, is repetition and consistency. So, even if you have great marketing and you have a great product, if you don't consistently market it, it's never gonna get anywhere. And right now, in any, pretty much any and every niche there is out there, from software to any product or service, it is not the best product that is winning. It is the best marketed product.

And I can give you dozens of examples. For instance, Windows 11 sucks. It's not even close to the best office data software. There's Linux, or Linux, is much better, but it has zero marketing behind it. And so, people aren't gonna use it even though it's way more efficient. It basically costs one tenth as much, and it does a better job faster, but it's probably never gonna catch on unless somebody figures out how to get it to market better. And the same thing for all of the AI products, you know, from ChatGPT to Anthropic to Gemini. There are better private, open source LLMs that you can run for not just 10% but one one-hundredth of the percent, and do a better job, but they're never gonna get out there until someone figures out how to market it, and that's gonna be the key there.

When you do, when someone does figure that out, the only problem is, because they aren't charging enough, as Dan Kennedy said, "Whoever can afford to pay the most to get the client wins," and that's what it comes down to. It's just like boxes of cereal. $2 or $3 of every box goes to marketing. The product itself is maybe $0.20, $0.25, and it's not even.. And they market it as healthy when if you do any research, any type of breakfast cereals are zero health. In fact, they're anti-health. They suck up nutrients. They suck up minerals from your body, but I don't wanna get off on that tangent.

It comes down to getting your message out there on a frequent basis. And that's it. And while I agree with Dan Kennedy, 'cause he's one of the sharpest marketers in the world, you can do it on a lower budget, but you have to be consistent. You have to work harder. It costs, there's always a cost, either time, money, creativity, or usually all of the above.
So anyway, this went on a little bit longer than I wanted to, but I just wanted to make that point. So, be consistent in your marketing, and hopefully this will help you out, and you'll be good to go.

And it's not the best product that wins. Remember, it's the best marketed product that wins. So, that's it.
