Gallery of Paper Men
Gallery of Paper Men
I've been walking through a gallery of paper men
All surface and no substance, playing pretend
They talk a good game but they fold at the bend
Just peacocks with no spine, no means to an end
I'm starting to wonder, starting to doubt
If there's anyone left who knows what it's about
Is there a real man out there?
Someone who builds while others just stare
Who keeps his word like a sacred prayer
Am I searching for someone who isn't there?
Tell me there's a real man somewhere
But wait—there's a whisper rising in my chest
About the ones who wake before the sun to give their best
The farmers, the builders, the dream-chasers out west
Men who measure life by the dirt on their vest
They're not in the spotlight, not chasing the crowd
They're building their kingdoms, heads down, standing proud
There IS a real man out there
Calloused hands and a steady stare
Who protects what's his with a lion's care
And his word is the bond that he'll always bear
Yes, there's a real man somewhere
He won't be sitting in some downtown bar
Won't be posing for likes or polishing his car
He's out in the world, building, creating, reaching far
And he's looking for a woman exactly like you are
A partner, not a princess
Someone strong who sees his best
Who'll appreciate the journey and the test
He's been waiting, just like you, for someone real to invest
There's a real man out there
And he's searching for someone who dares
To meet him where the dreamers prepare
In the workshop, the field, the open air
Our story's waiting—I'll find him there
I'm writing my own happy ending now
No more waiting, I'm figuring out how
He's building his tomorrow—I can see it somehow
And when our paths cross, we'll both take that vow
