Loofahs Out of Control
Loofahs Out of Control
Okay, I don't know if this got posted or not, but these are my luffas. It rained for two days straight, so I couldn't get out here. I don't know if you saw the other video. Maybe I can attach it. But they got out of control. And I just threw a bunch of seeds in here because I thought they were toast. But guess what? Almost every single one of them's germinated. So there's got to be at least 100 in here.
And I'm gonna put these up on Facebook. If you're in the Nashville area, I'm gonna sell them for probably, maybe $5 or $6 a pop. That's it. I use Dixie Cups. This is a really good potting soil, so these things will grow.
if you have a trellis or a fence, they will give you luffas up the wazoo. They can grow 30-40 feet long, and you can train them to go in and out between the vines, and I've got a dozen here. I probably need a dozen more. But anyway, that's it. They're fun to grow.
And I've got a big one around here. Let me see if I can find it. So this is the big one. I don't know if you remember a couple of days ago, they'll grow six inches, six inches to one foot a day. They're crazy. Look how small this pot is. It's kind of nuts. And there's the leaves from the other day. It was a little itty bitty baby. And we got one coming up here. This thing will be two inches tall by tomorrow. So kind of nuts.
So they're fun to grow. They're gorgeous, have nice big yellow flowers. Bees love them. Butterflies love them. And you get luffas out of them. And they're really... These are about... I have some anywhere from one foot to two feet long, so you can cut them up if you want to into discs or use the whole thing.
All natural, and you don't have to do anything. If you fertilize them, they'll go crazy, but even if you abuse them, they'll still go nuts. Just make sure they're well-watered. They will suck up a boatload of water because they grow so fast.
And if you put fertilizer on them, just use Miracle-Gro if you want to use organic stuff. The whole thing with the organic ones, it's all chemicals. So, at the end of the day, there's not really that much difference between them.
So anyhoodle, that's it. I'm gonna finish potting these up. And I guess this is all I'm doing for today. I'll do some more tomorrow. Luffas, luffa, luffas coming out my wazoo.
