Welcome Back to The Longer Crowbar

The view from the front porch: rocking chairs, flower beds, and a gravel drive past a John Deere tractor to a green barn.

Hey there, Andrew "Easy" Anderson here. Welcome back to The Longer Crowbar.

If you have been here before, you will notice the place got a makeover. New site, new look, every one of my videos lined up in one spot, and a lot more on the way. If you are new, pull up a chair. I am writing this from the porch, looking at the barn in that picture up top. The tractor and the pickup are still out front. Some things you do not replace. You just get better at using them.

Getting back to it

I will be honest with you. I got away from this site for a while. Life, business, and a few hundred other things that all felt urgent at the time. You know how that goes, right?

Here is what I learned coming back: getting back to something is harder than starting it. Starting has excitement going for it. Getting back has a pile of "I should have" sitting on the step. The trick is the same trick I learned on the farm. You do not muscle it. You set up the leverage so showing up gets easy. More on that in a second.

Why a crowbar?

When I was 12 or 13, maybe 14, I had a job on the farm that a kid that size had no business doing: moving a tractor tire. Not a car tire. A tractor tire. Seven or eight hundred pounds of rubber that does not care one bit how strong you think you are.

I could not lift it. Nobody could. But I figured out real quick that with a long enough crowbar, I could walk that tire anywhere I wanted. By myself. The tire never got lighter. My bar got longer.

Years later, my Amish buddy and I mounted, dismounted, and resurfaced a five-ton millstone so it would grind grain better. Five tons. Two guys. No forklift. No electric anything. Just long pry bars, block and tackle, and knowing exactly where to set the fulcrum. We moved a rock the size of a car with our hands and our heads.

That is the whole idea of this site in one sentence: Heavy things move easy with a longer crowbar.

Hard work is not the secret

This one took me too long to figure out, so let me save you the years.

Look at anybody who built real wealth. It was not the hard work. Plenty of good folks work themselves into the ground and have nothing to show for it but a bad back and a tired truck. You know some of them. Maybe you have been one. I have.

The ones who got somewhere took their hard work and put a lever under it. Tools. Systems. The right people. Knowledge somebody else already paid full price for. They did not push harder. They pushed from the long end of the bar.

Health, wealth, and relationships are one thing

We like to keep these in separate boxes. Health over here. Money over there. Family and friends in a third box on the shelf. Here is the thing: they are welded together.

Run yourself down and watch what happens to your decisions, and then your bank account. Get your money in a mess and feel what it does to your sleep and to the people at your dinner table. Fall in with the right people and doors open that no amount of grinding would have opened. Pull on one and the other two move. That is leverage too, and it cuts both ways.

So that is how this site is built now. Three main things: Health, Wealth, and Relationships. And Happiness? Happiness is not a fourth box. It is what shows up when the other three are working. It is also the one thing nobody can hand you. You build that one yourself.

Rule number one around here

Do not take advice from somebody who is not where you want to go.

That is rule number one, and I hold myself to it too. So you will get my own forty years of scars and wins, and you will get people who have actually done the thing. Not theories. Not gurus selling you a map to a place they have never been. If somebody is not where you want to be, smile, nod, and keep your hand on your wallet. :)

How to use this place

Three steps. They work on tractor tires, millstones, and lives.

  1. Pick one heavy thing. Not ten. One. The thing in your health, your money, or your relationships that has not budged no matter how hard you pushed.
  2. Find the lever. A tool, a lesson, a person who has already moved that exact thing. That is what the lessons and videos here are for.
  3. Set the fulcrum and stick with it. The tire did not move on the first push either. Leverage compounds. Show up, lean on the bar, and the heavy thing starts to roll.

What is coming

More lessons, pointed at the right things and nothing else. Tools for your head, your body, and your heart. Straight talk from me and from people who have earned the right to give it. Every video I make, right here on the site, filed where you can find it. And a free email so you never miss one. The signup is right on the home page.

I am going to give you crowbars up the wazoo, as I like to say. Grab one. Find the fulcrum. Let's go move something heavy.

Welcome back.

Take it Easy!
