1920s Machinery: John Deere Hopper
1920s Machinery: John Deere Hopper
There's just something about hearing an old piece of machinery come back to life.
I'm checking out what I'm told is an old John Deere Hopper with a two-cylinder engine, possibly dating back to the 1920s or 1930s.
And this thing still runs.
You can hear it.
You can smell it.
And when you're standing next to machinery this old while it's actually running, it's like getting a little glimpse into another era.
What I especially love is seeing old equipment that hasn't just been sitting somewhere as a display piece.
Somebody cared enough to keep it around, preserve it, and keep it running.
Modern machinery may be faster, quieter, more powerful, and packed with technology, but there's something incredibly cool about these old mechanical machines.
Simple.
Heavy.
Mechanical.
And built to work.
If you're into antique tractors, vintage farm equipment, old engines, John Deere machinery, or just seeing how things used to be built, you'll appreciate this one.
There's a lot of history sitting in these old machines.
And it's even better when somebody fires one up.
