Filling Big Holes in Nashville

Filling Big Holes in Nashville | Grown-Up Tonka Toys

Some of us never outgrow Tonka toys. The toys just get bigger.

I'm out at my buddy's place, When Pigues Fly, in South Nashville, Tennessee, checking out a serious fill project they've got going on.

This was a big hole this morning. Now it's not.

I'm guessing they'll eventually put around 1,000 yards of fill in here to level things out and make even more of the property usable.

And, of course, there are dump trucks, dirt, and a dozer—which means I'm immediately thinking about grown-up Tonka toys.

I haven't driven a dozer in a while, and I'm definitely out of practice. I might get a chance to jump on one, but I also don't want to get in the way of the guys who actually know what they're doing. 😎

If you're ever in the area, When Pigs Fly is a really cool spot with a great outdoor venue, and there's even a bonsai company here if you're looking for a bonsai tree. But today I'm just having fun watching a big hole disappear one load of dirt at a time.

You don't have to stop playing with Tonka toys when you grow up. You just need bigger Tonka toys.
