1951 Ford 8N: The Indestructible Farming Workhorse
This is probably one of the best tractors ever made.
A 1951 Ford 8N.
And I've got some history with these.
My grandpa had two of them, and we had another one on our farm, so I've spent plenty of time around these old Ford tractors.
They just go and go and go.
They're not enormous tractors.
They're not designed for the heaviest jobs on the farm.
But man, are they workhorses.
You can pull a two-bottom plow.
You can pull a disc.
They don't need a tremendous amount of fuel.
And one of the greatest things about an old tractor like this is that you can actually work on it.
Parts can be replaced.
Components can be rebuilt.
You can keep the thing running.
That's probably one of the reasons you still see so many old Ford tractors around more than 70 years later.
They were designed to work, earn their keep, and keep going.
This particular 1951 Ford 8N is in really nice shape and has obviously been well cared for.
I love seeing old farm equipment like this still around.
It brings back memories of my grandpa, our farm, and a time when machinery was built with the expectation that somebody was going to maintain it, repair it, and keep using it.
Kind of crazy.
